Basically, I think Most Haunted came to the U.S. for one reason only:  to stage some credibility.  Have you noticed how much more critical of the American haunts they are?  (Mind you, not more scientific or analytical, just critical.)  I think it was a way for them to come back to the U.K. and say, "See.  We don't always turn out an Abbott & Costello B-movie script.  Now you can trust us whenever we do!"

You know, I watched maybe 2-3 of the episodes when they first came out, but I was just disgusted..with everything about them.  They are sloppy, unscientific, and Derek is a complete FRAUD...as most of them are.  Why do people keep watching their show I wonder?

I agree with you one hundred percent.  I distrust them all, but my main beef is with Yvette Fielding who, after so many years of alleged "paranormal investigating" still never misses an opportunity to scream like a chimpanzee and hide behind a man whenever she gets the creeps.  WTF?  It's disgraceful and, ultimately, disrespectful to the field of paranormal science--especially since, in about half the cases, the Most Haunted team are investigating private residences.  What must the owners of these beautiful old homes and castles think when they eventually see Yvette Fielding's nostrils cavernously flaring in infrared light while she's racing from the premises, nervously shouting, "Bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger!"
