I don't know if a "SPOILERS" designation is even justified for this post, but just in case . . .

So, I'm taking the echoing quiet about the series finale of Stargate Atlantis to mean y'all had the same "Well, that's that," response to it.  Who the heck was that woman who showed up in the final sixty seconds of the series with the suggestion that Ronan fancies her?  In what way was this a "two part" conclusion to the penultimate episode?  Who's writing this stuff, anyway?  Oh yeah, no one--not anymore.  Sad, really.  I felt like they were just flushing the toilet after themselves.  At least they didn't do something as hackneyed as parking the station in the Atlantic and saying, "Atlantis has come home, everyone."  No.  Instead, they parked Atlantis outside of San Francisco, in the Pacific Ocean . . . and then said, "Atlantis has come home, everyone."  I smell another straight-to-video Stargate movie cooking.  It might be better if Bravo just picked up the concept instead for The Housewives of Atlantis.  (Watch what doesn't happen.)

Anyway, the final ten episodes of BSG are starting up and the adults can finally come back in the room.  My ass is going to be frackin' parked in front of a Cylon every Friday for the next ten or so weeks.

I heard that. Can't wait for BSG to start.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

I am anxiously awaiting the final episodes of Battlestar Galactica. I was very skeptical when they started talking about a "reimagination" of the BSG storyline, but when the mini series aired I was floored. I like the gritty and dark theme as opposed to the original series, and the stories are so complex they transcend the science fiction elements. Excellent writers, actors and special effects.

Have you seen the webisode "Face of the Enemy"? It's awesome. Don't fret if you didn't see it yet; Sci Fi is airing the entire 10 part webisode on Thursday around 9 pm during their showing of the "film" Pitch Black.

I had exactly the same reaction.  I followed the campy, original series all the way to its embarrassing final season as Galactica 1980, and I thought the new series was going to beat a campy dead cow as well.  (Did you catch the remake of Flash Gordon that aired for one season?  Peee-yew!)  I think Kara Thrace/Starbuck is probably one of the most complex sci fi characters ever written for television.  Brilliant.

I won't miss Thursday night.  Thanks for the tip, Brian.  I'm also a huge fan of Pitch Black.  I wish the followup film had kept the sensibility of that first film, which I consider one of the most interesting and non-derivative sci fi films to come out in the last ten years.

I share your feelings on Stargate Atlantis, finale didn't leave much to think about. I also like BSG series (liked to watch the Lorne Green edition too) can't wait for it to start back up, it's been too long.
