Yep.  And visualize a doublewide?

MichaelF (FPIE)

The doublewide and banjo had to be sold to pay for the coffin, sorry.
200 years ago, our communication over computers would have been deemed magical and we all would have been burned at the stake.  200 years from now, explanations for what we call Paranormal will be in Science Textbooks.

The Stray Cats were what I listened to in high school.  10th or 11th grade I think. (and I still love them)  Also, Madness, Elvis Costello, The English Beat, Missing Persons, New Order, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, The Cure, The Cult, Adam and the Ants, The Alarm, Boomtown Rats, Thomas Dolby, Billy Idol, Generation X, Lene Lovich, Devo, Split Enz, Yaz...OMG there are so many. Yeah...I was a "Mod".  I confess.

Anybody got any favorite bands from the 80"s?  (I know that Every Rose Has It's Throrn, but if you even SAY Poison, you're out of the Dude/Dudette of the Month Club)  ;)

perhaps I should start another strand on this subject?  hmmmm   :)

Late 80s to early 90s long hair glam bands don't count?   ???  hehehe

Nice choice of music. I grew up on as well, lots of brit mod. I do LOVE Depeche mode, concert was here last night in Santa Barbara, I had to work, arg.   I'm a early 90's high schooler so I got the 80s stuff all through jr. high dances and at home...  UB40, Phil Collins, REM, too.  I am a early 90s high schooler and got all the Seattle grunge influence too like Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Janes Addiction, Sound Garden.

However, Depeche mode is one of me all time favorites (just got the remixed and best of album not too long ago) along with Joy Division and Elvis Costello. A new best of Styx and Lynard Skynard is out too!

Rockabilly Favs - The Crickets, Buddy Holly, Elvis, Johnny Cash and some other rockabilly influence as well.

yahh, I've heard of the Texan, Reverend Horton Heat, good music. I've heard his concerts are awesome and energetic.   You know, I'm asian, but my dad became completely lost in country folk music back in the early 70s, so I grew up with a lot of it. You know, there's asian in every caucasian. ;) People call me a twinky ;) if you know that means hehehe.  Growing up in a ranching city and an exgirlfriend from a town of population 56 in Wyoming cattle country probably had something to do with it as well. :P

I like that: "Asian in every Caucasian".  That's awesome.  :D   I lived in Japan in my twenties and it was the most pacifistic society.  When I first moved there, I couldn't speak any Japanese at all.  It was amazing to me how kind everyone was, no matter where you went.  Even if you struggled trying to speak the language, just the fact that you put forth the effort was kind of like a show of respect.  A friend of mine who was fluent in both Japanese and English, who had lived there her whole life, told me that.  It was such an incredible place.  So many great memories I had.

This is kind of quirky, but every time I hear a trash truck, I think back to how we knew the truck was coming into our neighborhood when I lived there.  There was no loud "BEEP BEEP BEEP".  No.....they played classical music out of the speakers they mounted on their trucks.

bellalaghoste

i am asian too that loves rockabilly your not alone.

johnny

hahaha yeah, trash trucks in Japan rule.  The beer vending machines on every corner is pretty convenient and most people are kind enough.  However, a lot of pop culture there sometimes kills me and the engrish is pretty funny too.
