During my regular paranormal ramblings through the darkest corners of the internet I stumbled across this video allegedly taken by a home owner concerned about unexplained activity in his home while he was away at work.

Here's the clip and the article:

Thoughts anyone?  ;D

That's a pretty amazing video.  It doesn't look fake, but you never know.  That site has a lot of video on it.  Interesting paranormal videos.  Interesting enough to keep you occupied for at least an hour or more.  Who in the world would spend that much time viewing all those "ghost" videos?  Who knows.

Wow.  Is it really that late?  Time sure flew.   ;)

Wow!  Something caught the dog's eyes.  They seemed to be spellbound for a second.

Hmmm interesting well made video..

1.  The dog wagging its tail as it makes its way past the camera in the first few seconds appear to me the dog is going to someone familiar and happy. The owner probably walked around the house and came in the back door.

2. The alleged orb moving seems to make the white balance change or was that done after the video was shot in post to make the orb more visible?

3. Where are the dogs during the door opening and closing episode. There are some small bangs when things move, even the paper towels roll... makes me wonder... rubber band snap? owner protecting the dogs from getting hurt during the prank?

3. I hear whispering and walking when the dog is staring up at whatever it is beyond the camera...

This is still my most favorite video of all time, gets me laughing every time... oh sorry to ruin it! Watch it all the way through

The closet door sequence is completely faked, so the rest of the video is equally suspect.  (Study the film in a "full screen" mode and watch for the stop-action photography effect in the closing of the closet door.)  I respect the filmmaker's audacity, though, of saying right from the start that the alleged paranormal activity concerned the attic door, but then his video camera is set up in the living room to capture the closet door instead, which just happens to be dead center in the viewfinder.  Improbable.

Thought you'd be interested by this still from the footage, capturing the paper towel flying off the coffee table.  It's an impressive effect while he film is rolling, but under scrutiny the edges of the alpha channel show up, accompanied by a slight opacity that blurs out the features of the couch in a suspicious swath the shape of a rectangle:

Wow.  Nice shootin' Tex.

You are amazing, Karl.  Great find.

Johnny,
That was hilarious!  Think of it, an uncoordinated ghost with a sense of humor.  I think he has too much time on his hands.

Kristen

I haven't much knowledge about dogs, but I'm pretty sure they would have been much more disturbed than that if there really was something going on.  The paper towel roll could easily have been done with fishing line, as well as the door.

I agree with Karl on the door.  That doesn't look like an attic door to me.

I agree with you ,,,,my experience with dogs makes me feel like they definatly should have been , in the very least , growling  at the door. The dog I had  would bark at everything.. like most dogs do.

Good call guys. I looked at the video. Then read comments about the video and went back and watched it again.
All seems to fit.
Dogs reaction I too think is suspect.
Dogs look like they know who is making the video.
Maybe the ghost in the video is Casper the friendly ghost.
He lives in the closet, plays with the dogs when the owner is gone
and doesn't like paper towels on the coffee table.

Sounds interesting...Go on.
