If you see my car, please call the police immediately. It is a green honda accord, 1996, it has a big pacific paranormal investigations sticker on the back window.

Oh man, you've got to be kidding me. When did this happen bro?

OMG Brian!  I'm sure you've reported it to the police.  When did it happen and where were you parked?  Are you okay?

MichaelF (FPIE)

That is really messed up Brian, hope you get it back ok.  A lot of times when a car like that gets stolen, it is used in a  crime then ditched, so you may get it back ok.

Thank you all for your kind wishes. Despite being really depressed and extremely pissed, I am fine. My car was stolen while I was at Hooley's having a pint with Glenn, Brian, and Tim. I have no idea what happened to it other than it is gone and I will most likely never see it again.

PPI Glenn

Brian, I feel your pain. I've had two cars stolen myself over the years. One was a '84 RX-7 which I just bought for racing and I was only able to take it out once before it was stolen. The other was my beloved '88 Mustang GT.  I really hope that they find it.

I had my Nissan 240sx stolen right out of my parking spot at my apartment once.  I feel your pain completely.  Unfortunately Japanese cars (especially older ones) are super easy to steal.  The cop showed me that all they had to do was either jimmy the lock or shave down a key just enough and it would work to open the door.  They took my little sports car off-roading ruining the whole underside and totalled it.  I hope that yours turns up like mine did, although I hope it turns up in better condition than mine did.  On the bright side, with the huge PPI sticker it will be easier to spot.  I'll keep my eyes open up here in north county.

MY CAR HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from the El Cajon police department this morning, saying that my car had been found. Surprisingly, it was drivable. Despite that, I took it down to my mechanic and had him give it a thorough look over. My battery looked as though someone had tried to rip it out by the electrodes, I had some minor dents to the front and side of my car, my armrest had been ripped off, and whoever stole my car carved a f***ing swastika into my steering wheel. Other than that stuff, my car was undamaged. As for what they stole out of my car: they got most of my tools, my emergency road kit, my $35 first aid kit, my stereo, my XM satellite receiver, 40 of my favorite CDs, my ipod, a camera, and my large and small mag lites. However, that stuff should be covered by my homeowners insurance. I am just so freaking happy that I got my car back and it wasn't on blocks or heavily damaged. While the cops were collecting evidence they pulled a lot of drug paraphernalia out of my car, and some girls wallet and I.D. Hopefully this will lead to an arrest.

dwalters

Don't forget to tell them that you had a brand new FLIR in there too  ;)

MAN, I'm so sorry about all that Brian, but I'm happy you got your car back!

Brian Johnson

Yeah I wish I could but, I don't feel like committing insurance fraud.

Hey Brian,
Glad to hear you got your car back.
Didn't you also beside FLIR in your car have a laptop with 17inch screen?
You know, the one you bought so you wouldn't have to drag your entire desktop computer with 19 inch monitor
over to my house so you could play Diablo II ;D

Get a club for your car Dude.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

PPI Glenn

Unfortunately the girl's ID is circumstantial evidence and can't be used. When my RX7 was located, I found a receipt for auto parts that they purchased after they took the car and using that little bit I was able to find out not only who took the car but where it was taken to be chopped. When I took all this to the police they told me it was but the cops said it was circumstantial evidence and couldn't be used.

Wow.  That's just lazy.  Jerks.  :(

Brian, you'll need to give your posse a victory ride on Thursday night.  Congratulations on getting back the car.

I will most definitely give you guys a victory ride. I just have to get my car detailed, before that happens.

MichaelF (FPIE)

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right Glenn.  It's true that you couldn't get a conviction out of it, they wouldn't even try, but it is certainly enough to pull somebody in for questioning.  It sucks when people are lazy.

So I got my baby back from the mechanic's today. Wouldn't you know I found yet more damage that had been done to my car. One of my tail lights is broken, the person who stole my car also carved "white power" into my ceiling upholstery, they disconnected(more like ripped out) the electrical line that goes to my cigarette lighter, broke my glove box lock, stole my spare tire and the tools that go with it, burned a cigarette hole in my driver's seat, broke my passenger side door lock, smeared some sort of sticky caked on substance all over my seats, and f**ked up my alignment. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I am so angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm really sorry that htis happened Brian but this type of vandalism to stolen cars is pretty common.  If they didn't chop it completely (like Glenn's experience) they pretty much trash the daylights out of it.  If you have comprehensive insurance on your car they should cover the repairs.  I'm surprised that the I.D. would be considered circumstantial evidence.  Usually they would use that as a starting point and any suspect leads they get they would try to match up to the fingerprints left on the car.  The cops did take fingerprints I hope....my faith in the force isn't great since having to deal with them on more than one occasion.  And I have friends and family that are officers.
