No matter how you feel about the "Big Bang Theory", this is interesting, non the less.

Sound off.  What do you think about this?

PPI Tim

If a black hole is created at least France will go first.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

Oui   :D

I think it's awesome. Reminds me of the talk within the scientific community during the development of the atomic bomb. Some people said detonating the bomb would cause an uncontrallable chain reaction and destroy the planet. Now more than half a century later we use nuclear reactors to boil water! ;D

There was a show on the History Channel. Very good show. Spelled out all the things they are reseaching and how they are doing it. They also show how they were collecting the data and the reasons why no one is allowed in the tunnel when the experiment is going on. They are just starting crank up the power on the thing. They are not going full power until a few weeks from now.

Then....
We're all screwed ;D
Sounds interesting...Go on.

Thanks Tim for that comforting thought.  I know I'll sleep better tonight just knowing that.  ::)

I think I'll have one of those homebrews that I've been saving... No sense in saving it anymore, is there?  ;D

Hi Brian,
I hope you have a hitchhikers guide to the universe
and a good bath towel.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

But if Deep Thought came back with the answer "42", would we remember the question?

By the way, Zaphod says "Hi".

johnny

What was the question again?   I'll meet you all at the restaurant at the end of the universe so you can remind me. :)

Looking at the arial photos... looks like Geneva will be the first to be sucked into a black hole or will be the center of a new universe :)  It's pretty amazing it surrounds the city.

no more bombs no more war.  I really do not care if the world is going to end.  We can not change it.  Sometimes crap just happens.

I think they are using this collider to try and discover Dark Matter and the existence of other dimensions.

Yup, besides analyzing sub particles they could never have dream't of, I've read someplace they've already created matter out of nothing in support the big bang theory or whatever, created and analyzed dark matter, they continue to split molecules and discover the nature of sub-atomic particles and they continue making some incredible discoveries at CERN.

But who knows what's all really going on there. I'm sure time and space related quantum physics is being explored inside and out, I've read in some science periodical that Sandia National Laboratories already have a working form of physical point to point teleportation on a very small scale (in the size of  molecules). Are we finally in a new age of science?

PPI Brian

Yeah, I can't wait for point to point teleporters. Imagine how much easier traveling would be? Just step into a transporter and you instantly arrive in Washington DC. Adds an entirely new dimension to the term "telecommuting".  ;D
