Is belief in the supernatural and paranormal on the increase in the United States? If so, why? This was the topic on a recent opinion article in the LA Times. Here's a link to the article:

It is a good article. When I read articles like this it reminds me of why I developed and interest in this subject.
I believe there is more to this world then what my senses tell me.
How to prove it is the tricky part.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

Exactly. Not just prove that there's more out there, but also what exactly it may be.

Since joining the group, I have really begun to think about what I do and don't believe in. I'd like to say I believe in ghosts and other paranormal things, just because it's so mysterious yet tantalizingly close. But intellectually, I have to admit that ghosts as we think of them may not exist, and I have no idea what's really going on. That wouldn't mean that paranormal research is totally useless, but the hauntings of today may turn out to be something as exotic as leakage of quantum information from a higher dimension. Who knows? The more we find out about the universe, the stranger it all gets. And if I can contribute any tiny iota of knowledge on the subject, then that's good enough for me.
