Apple has announced that Steve Jobs passed away today from pancreatic cancer.
He was such an icon in the computer world!
Moment of silence for a great mind.

Very sad.

I can't imagine my life without Apple computers in it.  I wouldn't have been the teacher and writer I am today if it weren't, in some measure, for Steve Jobs.

My sincerest thanks to the man.
If you want to end your misery, start enjoying it, because there's nothing the universe begrudges more than our enjoyment.

I just heard the news. I'm so sad to hear that Steve Jobs passed away.

It's hard to believe he is gone.  Gone but not forgotten, though.

Here's an incredible article about Steve Jobs and the incredible companies he started. The short list of inventions and technologies he created and/or invented is nothing short of impressive: 338 US Patents, most notably Apple Computers, Mac, iTunes, iPods, NeXT Computers (which became the first server in the World Wide Web), Pixar Animation Studios, iPhone, iRiver and iPad. He was truly a great American pioneer and technological innovator. He could see the future, and he challenged us all to "think differently". He will be greatly missed.

One aspect of Steve Jobs' private life that many people probably don't know is that he was Buddhist. His inventions are noted for their beautiful simplicity - a classic Zen Buddhist concept.  :)
