Does anyone have any credible reports of paranormal activity at the Point Loma Lighthouse in San Diego? If so, has there ever been a serious investigation conducted there?

Just curious.

http://gothere.com/sandiego/Ghosts/PointLoma/ here's one link I found.

San Diego - Point Loma National Cemetary - just north of the city of san diego is a normandy-sized cemetary that was a favorite place for marines awaiting to leave for westpac ground forces.the marines used to go there on short liberties to lay amongst the grave stones, smoke and get drunk and near midnight witness souls rising from their graves to walk near the one thousand foot cliffs and look out over into the pacific ocean to see if their country was secure and then they would return to their graves.not to many young marines wanted to talk about this experience back at the old mainside of camp pendleton as the cemetary is the location of thousands of buried marines from the first and fifth marine divisions killed in action durring world war two. ? posting on shadowlands, I know it's not the lighthouse.

I believe we tried to get in there back in the day...and we were unsucessful. I may be wrong, but from what I remember, they were rather rude about it and just laughed and hung up on us. Another attempt was made and I could be wrong, but I do believe thier position was "there are no ghosts here" and hung up. I would still love to investigate to be sure.

Unfortunately David is correct they laughed and hung up, saying they had no ghosts.

PPI Brian

That is unfortunate. Even if they believed the lighthouse had no activity, they should have welcomed a serious investigation just to spark more interest in the place as a tourist attraction. And if PPI found nothing, what would be the harm? I don't get it...

I never have a good experience in San Diego got in a bar fight last time I was there.  People are just rude other there.
Lighthouses are some of my most favorite landmarks.  Alway have had a love for them and the history.

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience here. I can assure you that not all San Diegans are rude.  ;D

I wonder if we could get in there for an investigation. I'm almost positive we could. Anyone from PPI willing to take that challenge?

You mean you think we could get into the lighthouse???

I seriously doubt it. We will most likely run into the same problem we had last time.

Well, the only way to find out is to ask. You never know, the same folks might not be in control now and you may have someone else who has witnessed something and is interested in having it investigated.

If you were able to get an "Affirmative!" on an investigation, I sure would love to go!

My father is buried out at Point Loma.  He was a pilot in the Navy and being a veteran, we were able to lay him to rest there.  It is a beautiful place.  Maybe I could speak to the individuals that oversee the grounds, since I have ties there, so to speak.

What do you guys think?

Kristen

It's definitely worth a shot.  They might be more receptive to someone they know.

I met a ranger a couple of months back who takes care of the Lighthouse.
I asked him if he experienced anything strange there?
In his 25+ years of taking care of the place, being there at all hours of the night and day, in rain or shine, he has NEVER experienced ANY
paranormal activity.
I'll take his word for it. I don't think it is haunted.
Tim
Sounds interesting...Go on.
