Have you ever seen a ghost?

I think i've seen a ghost in person. I know i've seen a couple that I believe to be real ghosts on "Ghost Hunters" with TAPS. I was investigating a house up in Big Bear, and I was the last person that was still awake (we had stopped for the night), and out of the corner of my eye I could've swore I saw something move into the room from the hallway. It was moving at a pretty fast pace, and when I turned to look at it head on, it was gone. So I think it was a ghost, but it could've been me getting really tired...and my eyes were playing tricks on me. I wouldn't say for sure it was a ghost unless I caught it on video tape, or with a camera. I hope to see one head on some day though. I have a bunch of questions I'd like to ask it.  ;D

I believe I have. Over the years, I have seen and heard some things that I could not easily explain. Although there could be a logical explanation for some, I believe some were paranormal. But alas, the proof is in the pudding (so to speak). Photos, film, and audio recordings help to clear up some of the questions and reveal the true paranormal. I would love to capture some of the things I've seen and heard.

Heck yes I saw my Great-grandmothers face floating above my bed. See my ghost story in the stories section of this forum.

Yes I have...I will be putting in "my story" with in the next few days...it was what got me started in all of these...at the ripe ol' age of 7.

Yes- I had the unfortunate experience of a man standing over my bed as I woke from sleep- a man that I could see right through, mind you. He flailed his arms about, as if to provoke a reaction out of me. Even when I sat up in bed, wide awake, I could still see him... his ornary expression, his wild brown hair. I believe he followed me home from the cemetrary one night, as I was there collecting EVP. Needless to say, I now openly state that the dead are not welcome to follow me from the sight I am visiting. Yikes. // :o

I was 13 in my room and I was woken up by a male ghost who looked a lot like the kfc guy.  He had gold light around his body.
He said he died on a ship and I needed to listen to his story.  I tried to go back to sleep then he push me and said listen to me and my story it is important. His eyes turned red.  Then I freaked out and went to my mothers room.  I think he was upset at me because I do not eat kfc chicken..... lol lol lol....  no but for reals I am not sure if this was real or just a dream.

I don't know if "seeing" is the right word, in my case.  I believe that I have experienced something paranormal on several occasions involving auditory phenomena, tactile and shadow phenomena.  I'm leery of calling any of those "ghosts" because, so often, it implies a wandering soul.  My mind is not yet made up about whether the soul exists, particularly as a metaphysical reality.  (Though, I don't begrudge anyone else believing in it.)  I'm afraid I'm one of those people for whom knowing, not seeing, is believing.

Excellent point, Karl. I have always used the word "ghost" for lack of a better term.

Perhaps I should try to classify my personal experiences: Over the years I have experienced visual phenomena (shadows, forms, lights and reflections) and tactile phenomena, and I have been fortunate enough to experience auditory phenomena as well (music, voices, growling, footsteps, etc.). I have also experienced olfactory phenomena (cooking, cologne, perfume, etc.) and environmental phenomena (cold spots). Some of this activity appears to have been residual, but the remainder seems to indicate some sort of "intelligence". That is the aspect I find most intriguing.

We may never know if such a thing as the "soul" exists, but perhaps through diligent research we will be able to determine if a form of consciousness continues to exist after death, or in the case of non-human entities (elementals, etc.), if consciousness exists independent from a living body.

I have felt and heard wierd things in the past, but nothing that I would really consider "seeing" a ghost. My grandmother's old house in thousand oaks, CA (she no longer lives there) had some very creepy feeling back bedrooms. when I was little and had to turn off the lights in those rooms, I would slap off the light and run down the hall to where everyone else was in the living room - hahaha. I always felt like there was something malevolent in there. And after my mom died (when I was 11), I could swear that when I was in a crowded place I would hear someone calling my name and it always sounded like her voice. Now, since I have a VERY common name, I can easily brush this off to coincidence, but I still remember that it always wierded me out, and I learned to just ignore it since it was NEVER someone calling for me (not a visable person, anyway).
I really would LOVE to see a full apparition, or go ghost hunting, but I have no idea where to start - I've been researching tech stuff and ghost investigation for a while, but have yet to make the jump to joining an established group. I am very wary of these kind of groups (who needs some freak wafting smoke from a censer at a graveyard and chanting in pseudo-Latin while taking pictures of flying bugs and shrieking "Look! A ghost!") - I am logical by nature and not easily impressed by "orbs" and unexplainable bumps in the night. I found your site through the TAPS forum tho, and I've had a look and this group seems more skeptical and logical, which is cool. I think I'll keep an eye on ya'll to see if any groups pop up in my area....
Have fun and stay safe!

My mom and sister have both seen a man in jeans with a plaid shirt walk from our bathroom into the living room into the kitchen. I've never seen him, but in that area of the house I always feel like I'm not welcomed. The house has been cleansed since than and I don't get that feeling anymore.

As much as I want to say yes (or do I) I have never seena "ghost" I have felt some strange sensations as many others have but nothing visual. I guess since anytime I think I see something and I look around and there is no recurrence and nothing else to prove anything had ocurred, I just pass it off as my poor eyesight, mind games etc. Still awaiting the day.

I personally haven't had the luck, but my cousin and his wife have.  They were renting a house out by Orange Glenn HS.  On a few occassions they thought they had seen someone in their backyard.  One day they were cleaning and went out back to take a break on the porch (so yes this is daylight), and they saw an apparition of a hispanic male wearing a Chargers jersey walking around the yard.  It seemed like he was inspecting them and the home.  Needless to say they freaked out.  The next day my cousin's wife was ready, all stocked up with holy water and the like, she actually went out and tried to beckon him to talk to her.  He appreared!  She asked what he wanted and he replied, "You are good people.  The house is fine."  They never saw him again after that.

That story always gives me chills.  My cousin was a definite skeptic, he didn't believe in any of that stuff, but now he does.  His wife says that it was one of the most interesting things that has happened to her, and definitely made her believe in the afterlife.

I can't say that I've ever seen one in person, I've been touched by one, it tugged on my sweater at night when I was visiting my bro's house in Texas, I had a lot of experiences there and I always felt like somebody was watching me, especially while showering. I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me but two months after I had left my brother caught it on camera when he was recording his girlfriend in their living room. You can see a white light shoot across the camera and it kind makes a knocking sound on the camera, I slowed it down and you can see a little boy, similar to casper in the video. I wish I still had it but the last thing I wanted to do was to keep it lol. I think my brother might still have a copy of it, and if so I'll post it.
