Hey everybody,

While on assignment in Yuma Arizona, I got the opportunity to check out this old prison. According to Shadowlands, the two hot spots at this site are the Prison Museum and the "Dark Cell". I took some time to do some EVP work on the site, and spent a lot of time working in the "Dark Cell". I even got to spend about ten minutes alone in the "Dark Cell". I had a very strong feeling of dread as I entered the "Dark Cell", but it dissapated almost immediately. I will review my digital audio and let you know if I captured anything.

I've been to this place. It is exactly like you describe it.
You didn't want to be sent there to serve your time.
It might have been the idea behind Gitmo.

I think it was worse... no toilets, no air conditioning, no TV. This was PUNISHMENT. Even though it's been closed for 98 years, it still has a very oppressive feeling.

I'd be very interested if you got anything.? I have been there but the jail was closed and I only got to walk the grounds.? I know it has tremendous history of being the worst jail in old west times.? It has an amazing feel to it.? I'm looking forward to your findings. Robin
Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there!

The prison is a fascinating place. Conditions there must have been horrific, and there were a lot of deaths there. The prison cemetery is located just outside the gates at the bottom of the hill, but it's been heavily vandalized over the years. It's worth a visit during regular visiting hours. Here's a few links to some related websites:

Our visit to the prison was interesting; there is a "vibe" to the place, but because it's outdoors it's very difficult to conduct any EVP work. Perhaps I will post a few of the audio anomolies I captured, but I didn't get anything I would classify as definitive... the best one came from an EVP session I spent alone in the Dark Cell. I would love to go back, especially in the evening when the traffic from I-8 would be minimal.

At long last, I got the opportunity to revisit this location while on assignment to Yuma, Arizona this week. Spent some "quality time" alone on the cell block with my new Olympus DS30 digital voice recorder, and I even got some time alone in the "Dark Cell".  ;D I am anxious to review my audio and digital still images.

I have been there too. I told david about it years ago but he never took the bait. Hey maybe we could twist his arm. I got him a t-shirt from there that says arizona on it.
