I am always struck by the lack of clarity of any film or photo of UFO's. Always somewhat fuzzy.

After researching, sponsoring symposiums, collecting stories and data
and (unwillingly) talking with the "beings" themselves..
No one has ever asked me, but I have say that the greys are NOT aliens.

They come from the same "space" that elves, fairies, elementals come from. In Western culture we have four elements, in older systems, there are 5 elements. Space is the fifth element. They appear to represent the fifth element from an immature perception.
The "greys" can take any form they want. They are tricksters. Dealing with them is a form of "initiation" into the inner workings of our own minds both individually and collectively. It appears that they will reflect, or mirror, our own collective qualities back at us.They take their form from our mind-stream. (In which case, we should be horrified, and vow to understand the nature of "mind",  ASAP!)

Hypothetically speaking <cough, cough>, what would be the advantage to them in revealing themselves to a child of, say, eight years old?  Or, in abducting said child?

Speaking theoretically, children have natural abilities to interact with the imaginal realms. It could be that the child is

a) personally being "called", similar to tribal shamans. (Further investigation in this case should show that the child has other experiences with other types of beings as well)

b) The child's family has unfinished business or , "karma' with the imaginal realm. Other family members with have disturbing experiences.

c) The culture the child resides in is unbalanced and on a dangerous path. There will be other children with similar stories happening simultaneously.

This is a very general and broad overview.
