Here is an article from the Telegraph documenting a very strange case of a man in Indonesia with a rare genetic disorder. I wonder if some of the reports of "monsters" could be explained by humans and animals with genetic disorders?

Cool. That was worth 10 bug-eyed emoticons!  ;D

Pretty sad, isn't it? I can't begin to imagine how much this man has suffered.

It's amazing that something as simple as vitamin A helps so much.  I really hope they can help him get that under control.  How terrible!

That looks like a form of elephantiasis. I really hope they find a cure for those poor people.

That's horrible! I hope they are able to identify and successfully treat his issue!

Here's an update on the Tree Man from Java: He hopes to marry after doctors remove more than four pounds of warts from his body.

Thanks for the update, glad he is getting better.
200 years ago, our communication over computers would have been deemed magical and we all would have been burned at the stake.  200 years from now, explanations for what we call Paranormal will be in Science Textbooks.

This is by far the most humbling line: "He has also become a sudoko addict now medics have cut growths from his hands allowing him to hold a pen."

I just saw the re-airing of the documentary recently.  I'm glad to know he decided to receive the full treatment.

It is truly humbling. I hope they can help this poor man. I can't imagine how much he has suffered with this terrible affliction.
