I was saddened when he retired, and now I'm even more gutted to know that Walter Cronkite has passed.  One of my biggest fears is that journalism will never again be the instrument of truth that it once was, and now one of our modern era's last and greatest advocates of truth is gone forever. 
If you want to end your misery, start enjoying it, because there's nothing the universe begrudges more than our enjoyment.
