One of my favorite celestial events will take place on Wednesday February 20, 2008; a total lunar eclipse. The event will begin at moonrise (sunset), and totality will last about 50 minutes. For more information click the link below:

If you miss this one, you'll have to wait until 2010 to see another.

The eclipse was very cool. Even though it rained all day, I set up my telescope and waited for a hole to appear in the cloud cover. Managed to capture a few pictures of totality. Did anyone else get to see it?

My class took a break just before 8 o' clock, and as I walked over to the mail room, the clouds parted and there she were.  I must have just missed the totality of the eclipse by a few minutes, because just a sliver was there, lookin' like a Moon Pie and an RC.  ;)

Not me.  Had my head buried in audio review   ;D

by the way, Brian....Got a lot of stuff on the 1st session we did in the hall.  Reviewing the clips again just to make sure I'm not grasping at straws or my ears playing tricks on me.

Donna

Unfortunately, we were heavily cloud covered all night, we missed it!!!! >:(

Now THAT is what we need on our investigations.  A moon pie right around 1:00am would be enough to keep me going.   ::)

Now I am going to have "Moon Pie" on the brain until I actually eat one.  Thanks Karl.... ;)

Todd

Remember when "2010" sounded like something you'd find only in the title of a science fiction novel?  F*ck me!  It's just two years away, and I'll be turning 50! :-\  Science fiction sucks!  Where's my Moon Pie, damn it!!!?

The lunar eclispe was the first one I've ever seen.  Oddly...I keep thinking there was going to be a commercial
break!

I really enjoy watching lunar eclipses. I watched a total lunar eclipse through a friend's motorized reflector scope back in 1979 and it got me totally hooked on astronomy.
