Because Pacific Paranormal Investigations is an educational outreach and research group, as a part of our mission to serve our community, we occasionally take sabbaticals from investigating in order to educate ourselves, develop new projects, train new team members and innovate better methods to serve you.  To that end, except for urgent and potentially life-threatening cases, PPI will be taking a summer hiatus from all formal client investigations.  If you would like to submit a non-urgent investigation request at this time, we will review it and discuss scheduling an investigation during fall of 2013, or we will cheerfully refer you to one of our reliable network groups if your needs are more immediate.  Thanks for your understanding, and we look forward to serving you again after August 25, 2013.

Even if this is not your first time inviting an investigation group into your place, you'll want to know what to expect when PPI conducts its business.  The following are some answers to frequently asked questions about the night of the investigation.

PPI is very proud to be among a growing number of paranormal investigation groups that, like our parent organization, T.A.P.S., responds to claims of paranormal activity by attempting to disprove them.  This should not be taken to mean that we do not believe what our clients tell us; rather, we feel it is our ethical responsibility to address our clients’ fears and concerns with a rational approach and an objective eye.  From our clients’ point of view, the investigation seems like the most important part of the process because it is usually staged in the clients’ home, but in reality it represents only a small fraction of the work we invest in a case before and afterward.  We ask that you take some time to study the following overview of our procedures, which will explain how we prepare for your investigation and help you to set forth your expectations for the final case report.

While PPI investigators and their clients always look forward to the review of collected evidence, a consistently applied set of methodologies is actually the most important part of any investigation, for it assures clients that an unbiased, honest and reliable technical process for gathering and interpreting evidence has been used and that this process can be repeated to reproduce the results, if needed.  The following, therefore, provide an overview of the principles applied in a PPI investigation, including a current inventory of our equipment and tools; a comprehensive delineation of the protocols we follow during an on-site investigation; and a detailed account of our code of ethics.

Both, children and parents, take an active interest in the television series about paranormal investigating that have enjoyed recent success.  However, PPI has strict protocols about the involvement of children in our investigations.  We respectfully ask that you review the following guidelines about child cases and children's participation in the investigation process.
