Title: Theory of Earthquakes "waking up" Paranormal Activity
Post by: Darth Tron Dan on April 23, 2010, 02:20:52 AM
With the recent Earthquakes in Southern California and Mexico, I have noticed an increase in the activity in our house. We usually have the strange voices and sightings of Paranormal masses throughout the year, but they had slowed down at the begining of the year, until the recent 7.2 quake. I have a theory that Earthquakes can "wake-up" Paranormal activity in a location, just as remodeling/renovating an old house does. Since the quakes, on two seperate occasions, in two different rooms, my name was called out by an adult female the first time, and an adult male the second time, both very loudly, and sounding as if it was right next to me. I was the only adult home at the time and my kids were asleep in their rooms. I've also had a cook book thrown off a book shelf, about 5 feet away, landing in a most unusal position. I tried to debunk it's falling, but since the book was wedged into the shelf with numerous others, there was no possible way for it to fall the way it did. After ten times of trying to pull, push, or move the book around to try and get the same distance and a simular landing pattern, I was not able to do so, and also learned that to get the book to the distance that it was, it had to be pulled with some great deal of force. I even showed my Wife when she came home from work, and she too was completely in awe of what happened.

I was wondering if anyone else has been experiancing events like this after a quake. It's hard to test the theory, since earthquakes are not as predictable as severe storms, but I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has any thoughts about it.
Let me know what you think ;-}

Thanks,

Wow Dan....I've never experienced anything like that, but, for some reason, I always think that zombies are going to come right after an earthquake.  I'm learning why.  lol lol   I'm curious to know exactly what book it was.  What was the title?   Also, I'm curious to know what the history of your house is.  Have you ever researched that?  If not, I would love to!

Hi Dan welcome to the forums. I've heard stories of strange things happening during earthquakes. Earthquakes are comprised of different rolling waves. It is possible that that the earthquake had a wave hit your house at a particular angle that would send something flying off a shelf. I have also heard that paranormal activity increases during remodeling. How far were you along in your remodeling when the earthquake hit?

Hey there Dan, welcome!!!  That is definitely an interesting theory.  To me, it could make sense, considering how little we already know about the spiritual world and the paranormal.  I would imagine that if anything in a home, or part of the home became unsettled dude to the quakes, I don't see why that couldn't "wake up" paranormal activity.

What Tim said about the quakes could also be very true. Perhaps the book had been resting in an unstable position allowing it to be shaken and thrown free..... just a thought.  Were you in the room when the cook book got thrown?

Again, welcome to the boards, I'm looking forward to anything else you want to share with us.    :)

Lillie said exactly what I was thinking - what was the title of the book?  Did it belong to another member of the family ever?  Was it something that was passed down?

How far was it launched and what was so odd about the position of how it laid to rest on the floor?  Oh, one more question:  Do you have carpet in that room or hardwood/laminate flooring?

Hi Dan,

Another consideration with the quake/paranormal activity is the electromagnetic field. Quakes discharge energy when the plates shift.
One theory of paranormal activity is that the "beings" use electrical (and other types) of energy.

Heya Heya,
 I know this is old, but I couldnt help but comment! Thanks for sharing your story Dan,
This is a great topic!  And Im so curious too, as to what the title of the book was!
Everyone had really good responses/comments and pointed out some interesting things
to consider!

And to just to share. After earthquakes I  notice how super hyper aware I become of my surroundings.
" What was that ? "  " Ya hear that ?"  " That an after shock? "  " Did that just move ?"
I become an overloaded charged up ball of excitement and awareness all together. =P
It gets me taking notice of things I normally wasn't paying attention to before.

I hope you stop by this thread again, Dan ! =)

Hey Shell!!  I know what you mean about that hyper-awareness thing.  I always thought it was just me being paranoid.  I hate earthquakes.  I don't anyone who enjoys them though.  There was supposed to be one on Friday, October 2nd.  It was "predicted".  i don't know how in the world you can predict one.  Especially down to the day.  Now, they are saying it will be on October 7th.  I wonder how they think they know when it will occur.  Hmmmmmm.....

Hi All... I know it's been way over a year since I've been on here, but my injuries from the Marine Corps took a dive, causing both health and financial problems for me and my family, so during this time I've been spending getting the needed help from the Veterans Administration. Glad to say that things are better financially and health wise, better than it's been for a loooonnngggg time. ;-} Looking forward to checking up with everything here and all of you. ;-}
In regards to my "old" post, Shellshock, the book was a cookbook, pretty well jammed in with others. Also, I'm pretty grounded, as to not jump to conclusions too quickly, especially since my two toddlers were there and they were (and are still) getting used to paranormal occurrences, and didn't want to scare them. But, that being said, you do have a great point! ;-} It was just a very weird few days after that quake. Anyways, thanks for all the comments/advice/info from all and I'm looking forward to being on here again!
Thanks,
Dan ;-}
