Title: Possible EVP at Stanley Hotel
Post by: PPI Brian on August 09, 2007, 09:02:59 PM
I found this video clip on You Tube, and thought it was interesting. The viewer who put this video together claims there was an EVP response to one of Grant's questions during an investigation at the Stanley Hotel last Halloween. Do you think it's authentic, or is it just a normal environmental noise that has been misinterpreted as an EVP?

I think it might be the sound of Grant taking a step and his foot scrapping against the ground. Not being there, I honestly can;t say for certain, but it doesn't seem valid to me.

Excellent point, Lauren.

I agree that the sounds an investigator makes during an investigation can easily be misinterpreted when an audio clip is isolated and looped on playback. But is there any evidence of sibilance or other characteristics normally associated with speech that might be identified as markers that could either prove or disprove this clip as an EVP? I sure wish I knew more about linguistics...  :-\
