My buddy in Rome posted this to my facebook. Thought it was interesting and thought I'd share. I found the video fascinating. Do military flares deploy in that manner? And over NYC?

Lights with similar patterns were also filmed over El Paso and Portland. I've been watching some of the net chatter over these. The skeptics claim they are part of the meteor shower. This doesn't explain how they hover motionless after breaking apart. I think it's intriguing.
Very intriguing
This is interesting. Thanks for posting this, Gary. At first, I thought--as others did--these were a meteor breaking up. The sudden stationary movements followed by a coordinating formation afterward is perplexing. Weird!
Definitely not flares.
I don't think they were stationary. If you look at the one on the right expecially, you can still see a "tail" as if it's in motion. I dunno, peeps. P^/

Here is the Manhattan footage.

Debra, that is weird also. At first, you can almost see the objects moving slight back and forth as if on a string, but it's incredible that they are able to simultaneously maneuver so close together they way they do. Hmmmmm...... Thanks for the additional footage.

The different footage seem to show the same phenomenon.
I did try to embed the video here following my notes. It didn't work. I'm sure I did something wrong when I was deleting the first http string.
