Title: Enfield Poltergeist
Post by: PPI Brian on January 16, 2010, 02:44:10 AM
The Enfield Poltergiest case in 1977 was one of the most documented poltergeist cases in modern times. Here are links to a fascinating BBC documentary entitled "Interview with a Poltergeist":

You're welcome.  ;D

There's at least one more video that I will link here.

Oh, I almost forgot. Here's a link to a website that claims to have original documents related to this case, and links to original audio recordings. Interesting stuff: http://www.zurichmansion.org/ghosts/video2.html

The audio on this sounds pretty creepy.
It is interesting though.

That Bill creature is very creepy. I  have an old CD-Rom from 1994 called Ghosts with Christopher Lee. It includes the Enfield case. The first time I heard Bill's voice was on the CD-Rom, when the investigator threatened him with "We'll pray to God..." and Bill barked/growled back with "Don't say that!".

Brain-- you're welcome to the CD-Rom if you want it, but has to be played on an older computer.

Hi Debra,

Thank you so much for sending the CD we discussed. I have been so incredibly busy I have yet to open it, but I will copy it and return it to you this week. I am looking forward to listening to it.  :)

Hope all is well.

Thank you very much, Debra. It reminds me of this old computer game I used to play called The Seventh Guest. ;D

For those of you who may not remember this game, here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_7th_Guest

and a YouTube video of the opening sequence of this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY96kCw7D4g&feature=related

Found this interesting video clip on YouTube featuring Maurice Grosse of the SPR and photographer Grahm Morris:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXCVh33eJlQ

What I found most interesting about this clip are the comments by Grahm Morris. He set up an automated still camera in the girl's bedroom and captured highly controversial images of Janet "levitating". Skeptics have dismissed these photographs for years, saying they were caused by Janet jumping out of bed. But Grahm Morris said the pictures were taken in rapid succession, obviously with a motorized film advance and flash system commonly used in sports photography in the late 1970's. He said the images that show Janet lying in on her back bed in one frame, then show her "suspended" in midair in the next frame were taken 1/6 of a second apart. If that is indeed true, how could that have been faked?

There's more where those came from:

Here's a lively discussion from UK television show featuring Maurice Grosse and the Enfield Poltergeist case

And another very brief clip of Maurice Grosse asking Yes and No questions of the poltergeist at the client's home:
