Title: The Brown Mountain Lights Phenomena
Post by: PPI Brian on June 29, 2009, 07:44:12 PM
Here's a link to a "night vision" video of the alleged Brown Mountain Lights in Burke County. Is this the real thing? These mysterious lights have been seen in the mountains of North Carolina since 1771 and many legends are told to explain their origins.

I'd feel better if there were a couple of different angles on the same event, and at least one of them in natural light.  Could be an exposed electrical conduit, a horny lightning bug, or some fool with a lighter, tin foil, and crack cocaine.

I'm not sure what to make of that, but you can't rule out someone playing tricks on them. The light source looks artificial, doesn't it? Now if they had captured lights similar to sprites I might be inclined to accept it as a natural pheonomena.
