Just days after his 9-year-old sister complained that someone was mysteriously finishing her jigsaws at night, a 12-year-old boy in the UK took a video of a white shadow in his bedroom followed by the dark image of a man. Are these artifacts a sign that the video was hoaxed or is it simply a case of misinterpretation?

I think the boy caught his own shadow with a moving light source.
That's a reasonable suggestion, Tim. Another source could be his own finger passing closely in front of the lens. The shadow seems out of focus and lacks depth; it passes in front of the dark closet, making it appear as though the shadow is also cast into the closet, but really it seems to be moving constantly within the same two-dimensional plane.
Or, it's a hoax. I'd like to have seen the footage afterward, for the next several minutes. Is the kid laughing, bragging, actually frightened? Whom does he tell? Is anyone else in the room with him? Etc.
Or, it's a shadow person. :)

Oh hell! I should have read the article that followed the video, before I posted my comments! Someone already beat me to the "object in front of the lens" theory. :P
