Title: Use of Fans to catch EVP
Post by: PPI Tim on August 27, 2008, 11:53:17 PM
Hey Guys,
I was at work today and noticed something that caused me to wonder.
We had fans on because the library was stuffy. I noticed that when I was checking out
books to mothers, thier kids were messing with the fans. The kids were speaking into the
and it was causing thier voices to sound haunting.
This left me to ponder. Since some believe that you need white noise to help catch EVP's,
do you think using a fan might be a good idea to catch a EVP?

I wonder if ghost child would find a fan as interesting as a living child?

Hey what is the worst that could happen?  Just make sure you sit a little far away. You never know what might get caught since you won't be able to see.

At the very least, you won't be too hot, right?  Seriously, it's worth a try.

I wonder how that theory would work at Union Hall.  (I still remember that kick ass EVP I got.)  Is it still posted on the private forum?  Somebody should post that baby.  The one that says, "I can't hide" (female voice) then right after that, "Come in" (male voice).  STILL sends chillls up my spine.

How the hell did I go from white noise and fans to EVP's at Union Hall?

I need coffee.......

You're hot. You need to cool down.
Here, have a fan. Just watch your fingers or you'll screem like a banchee.

PPI conducted an investigation at a private residence in El Cajon where the client's son actually captured an impressive EVP using a fan. I think it would be well worth experimenting, and like Tracy said, at least you won't be hot while your doing the EVP session.  :)

I've been experimenting with a recorder and fan for many years now, but so far nothing has unfolded:

People claim to capture dozens and dozens of EVPs by placing their recorders near an operating fan, but, in my opinion, it's all just another exercise in matrixing.  There's that one person who says she has hundreds (maybe even thousands) of EVP recordings from her coffee pot.  She'd listen to the "voices" that percolated out with the sound of brewing coffee.  She claimed people in the afterlife were visiting each morning to say hello, enough visits, in fact, to have become a soap opera for her:  she relayed the stories of their fights and their love interests, their humorous anecdotes.  She even claimed that they chose new names for themselves in the next world.  That's a pretty elaborate yarn right there.

When I was fourteen years old and we were flying home from Europe, I swear on my life I heard a chorus of people singing--for five hours!!!--in the drone of the jumbo jet engines.  I even asked my father if he was able to hear them, too.   (He wasn't.)  You know, your own voice talks in your head all the time.  It's not a real person in there with a speaker box; it's just you habitually organizing neural input into words and sentences.  It's so habitual, your brain doesn't know what to do when it's not talking to you.  It's just got to keep chatting away, even when you're asleep or when you're listening to a diffuse sound like white noise.   Just as random neural firings take the form of dreams, random sound translates into patterned human speech.  I feel that's what's going on with the white noise of droning machines like fans.

LOL!
I like the experimental instruments Karl. Very Good.
Love the story about the coffee pot.
So you believe that the use of fans to catch EVP's is a practice in audio matrixing?
I remember many years back of a story about someone could who claimed to hear voices when flushing a toilet.
