Very interesting. I'm not surprised. I was just there in October. It's an intriguing place to be. I only wish I could have spent more time there. Especially during the summer or winter solstice. You really got to wonder how and why those stones were put there. There are a lot of theories out there. But, will we ever know the truth?

Thanks for posting this. I have always found this subject to be so interesting. That is some great light that has been shed towards solving the mystery. It just baffles me as to how they could possibly move those stones at all. They weigh thousands of pounds each. The ones on the top as well. They had the crudest of tools at that time. How did they even hoist them up? Maybe someone someday will solve that part of the mystery.
I'm actually not surprised at all that this was used as a cemetary. I just wish the place hadn't deteriorated over the years when it was privately owned. It's beautiful.
I just saw that the stonehenge was made to remember the dead and the wooden structure next to it not to far away was made to the living. I saw something on this on the discovery channel this weekend.
That was a great program. It provided a lot of insight into Stonehenge. A lot of it made sense and seemed to answer some questions about how and why.
i just finished watching the program and it was pretty good. Learned some things I never knew about the wooden and stone structures and it really covered a vast amount of information.
