This YouTube footage was brought to my attention through the TFM Boards. The source is fairly trustworthy, so the probability of this being faked is pretty low (however, never 100% out of the question). Don't watch it in the expanded format, as that makes the anomaly too difficult to see. However, keep watching the door in the center of the screen.

Opinions? Rational explanations?
That's very interesting. I watched it a few times. When it first comes into view from the left, it does look to be more dense but it also appears to be see through. I don't know how it could be a shadow and I don't think it could've been cast from behind the camera, via headlights of a car or some other light source, because the entire frame would have lit up. You can also make out body features and it appears to be walking. Like you said, you can never be 100% sure, but it does look pretty convincing.
I agree, this does look very convincing to me, as well.
Interesting. . .I couldn't see anything until I wasn't looking directly at the doorway. It appears pretty realistic to me, but I don't know the first thing about film manipulation so I suppose it could be a fake that has been brought about via a process not yet understood by most. can't rule out either.
Very interesting. I wonder if there are any reflective surfaces in this hallway? Large mirrors, pictures with glass in the frames, etc. that might cause an IR reflection of one of the investigators to be "projected" down the hallway. Was the venue secured and were all the investigators accounted for at the time of this capture? I think I would have to have reasonable assurances of at least these two items before I would allow myself to consider the footage truly paranormal in origin.
Having said that, it's still very cool. Thanks for sharing that with us, Karl.
Thanks, Brian--and everyone--for your response. I found this because of a thread on the TFM boards, where I responded in much the same way you did. Additionally, there's something about this footage that reminded me of the footage caught by Zak Bagan's "Ghost Adventures" team at the Goldfield Hotel, which he touted on TV as "the best evidence of a ghost ever captured." Well, what can I say about that kind of claim, except to recommend he become acquainted with the concept of "hubris."
Anyway, I still recommend that people check out the comparison.
thats crazy the first few times i didnt see anything but i read ur guys comments and saw like a Apparition walking from the left and then right thru the door but the idk the video is really fuzzy but thats really cool
There's one thing that bothers me. Its the fact that the camera seemed to be centered diretly on the image. Why does that always seem to happen?
That bothers me, too. It's too convenient. In this case, however, I think this particular doorway was a high-profile location for sightings. Still, you're right: the fact that it's in frame makes one think it's an artifact of the recording process somehow.
If the camera was pointing directly at the door (which it was) and the door was centered in the frame (which it was) then why wouldn't the image also be centered?
what say you?
It appears to be walking out in the hallway and crossing in front of the door. If that is the case, you wouldn't see it in the entire frame, just where the door is open.
Right? Wrong? Sorta right? Mostly wrong?
You're zeroing in the the very issue that makes some of us skeptical. Because the image moves into the center of the frame and then disappears, it makes us wonder if there isn't an image of someone walking nearby caught in the edge of the lens or a reflection in the hood of the lens. (I don't know if "hood" is the right word.) It's that kind of potentially explained phenomenon with the equipment that makes so much evidence like this discounted, unfortunately. One might say that the probability of it being a camera artifact is very tiny--say, 5%. However, if one approaches the analysis under the assumption that a full-body apparition is an impossibility, then the probability factor of it being a camera artifact is as good as 95%. Why? Because 1:0 odds are the same as 1,000,000:0 odds. (Hmmm. I just realized I began this post with a reference to "zero." What are the "chances" of that?)
I think the chances of me being "Mostly Wrong" are.......100% ::)
back to you in the studio.....
I've also just learned to never trust anything on youtube.
I'm also the kind of investigator who wants to see supporting evidence as well. Any temp readins? Audio recordings? How about an EMF spike?
Whenever I set up a stationary camera, I always try to have an emf sitting somewhere, an audio recorder, etc.
TRue the doorway may be a spot of activity. But it still bugs me a bit. If there's one thing I've learned in this field, ghosts rarely apear on cue or dead center.
ya lol youtube is bad :o ......daves soooo going to hit me when he sees me hahahahhaha

This particular clip was posted on YouTube by a fellow paranormal group known to a TAPS person who vouches for their credibility. YouTube was used in this case expressly as a way to make the clip accessible for discussion with other paranormal groups. So, while I don't think there's any duplicity in this case, I still think our skepticism about the clip is merited. If nothing else, this demonstrates why the credibility of anyone who purports to have captured paranormal phenomena will only ever extend as far as the individuals who were there and know exactly what they did to rule out an ordinary cause. The rest of us can only trust their honesty and thoroughness. And, if we have no reason to do that, then it doesn't matter how amazing the evidence seems: it's always going to be dubious because we weren't there ourselves. That's always going to be the most frustrating thing about what we do, and it's probably why I wouldn't bother searching for evidence that would prove to the world once and for all that ghosts exist. I need the one bit of evidence that will inspire me with the conviction that they exist.
We need to make up some bumper stickers that read, "Get your own damned evidence!" ;)
HAHAHA niiiiiiice LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Karl,
I think the bumper sticker idea is an awesome one. I can see it now.....
"GET YOUR OWN DAMNED EVIDENCE!"

The figure seen appears to start out faint then grow brighter & more solid, then goes faint again before it disappears.
I have zelch experience. But it looks like Disneyland's Haunted Hotel, where the figures are faint & grow brighter as the
images dance, turn & as you come closer.
