My daughter (who just turned 8 on Christmas day) has had a near death experience. She nearly died in the womb and then again during surgery when she was only 4 days old to remove a tumor the size of a softball. She is also a cancer survivor. Although she is little, she is extremely perceptive. She is very in tune with her feelings and surroundings and if I am aware of something in our home that just doesn't feel right or a "perceived" paranormal event, she will say something about it before I do. She has seen two full bodied apparitions in our home (my husband has seen one of them as well) and still gives me the exact same description of both, even down to the shoelaces, and her description has stayed the same over the course of four years since it first occurred. Any parent will tell you that if a child is "fibbing", details of their stories will change over time. Not hers. I once heard that if a child has had a near death experience, it is almost like they have had one foot in the here and now and one foot in the hereafter. Thus, possibly making them a "paranormal magnet" of sorts. Interesting theory. We have lived in three homes since she was born; including our current home we bought just over 4 years ago. In her room in each one, there have been many things happen that I cannot explain. Some more frightening than others. Sorry for the long winded explanation/question, but if anyone has any feedback or comments; I'd love to hear it. Thanks guys.

This is a very interesting thread you started. I have been searching through my library trying to find references to the phenomena you described in your post, but I haven't been able to find anything definitive. You would think it would be the opposite, since NDE became a popular topic of discussion back in the late 1970's. There are anecdotal cases that characterize certain people as "beacons" to spirits; there's something about these people that make spirits curious, so they come near and try to attract their attention for a while, then they usually just fade away with time. I will keep looking and see if anything interesting turns up.
