Rooms that become dark

Hey Guys,
I was wondering about something.
We have been on investigations, doing a EVP session and suddenly the visiable light in the room or area starts to dim and the place gets darker.
What is the theory behind rooms getting darker?
Sounds interesting...Go on.

Other than lights dimming outside like a faulty street light or porch light, etc....perhaps the eye goes through cycles much like when you first turn off a light, your eyes need time to adjust.  Possbily the eye goes through phases to where the pupil needs to readjust itself.  Also, a flashlight going on or off, taking a photo (even though the eyes are closed) and any other equipment that has lighting (when in use) could also trigger this as well.  Perhaps also infared lighting, even though it does not appear to be a light source to the naked eye, actually does cause the pupil to change, thus making it appear that the room has gotten darker, until the eye adjusts itself once more.

Just a theory.  Probabaly wrong but at least I thought I'd take a stab at it.  (that and a buck will get you a gumball)   :P

I've wondered about this also. But how do you explain when everyone in the room see's the room go dark simultaneously.

I wonder if we could use a light meter would work?
Sounds interesting...Go on.

I think they need to point it at a light source.
If anything passes in front of it, it will show a light change.
Sounds interesting...Go on.

Great ideas, Tim.

This is a common report during paranormal investigations. I tend to agree with Tracy; a majority of these reports can be attributed to optical illusions or even eye fatigue. However, on a recent case three investigators reported the room growing darker at the same time. This is a common report among paranormal investigators, and it has been documented by other groups using digital light meters.
