again i stress use headphones - recorded last night with sound forge and then cleaned up for hiss with adobe audtion - you could hear the hum in both version and both programs using in ear buds/headphones so giveit a listen and tell me what you think we did our very best to to eliminate any possiblity of it being anything else etc., full original file available other than this excerpt but it was sorta to big to post online

I do detect some low undertones consistent with a hummed melody, but because it's so quiet, it might be an artifact of the recording process. It has that "modulated tone" thing going for it..  What is that thumpety-thump sound?  Is it someone tapping their foot, or is the mic being held up to someone's heart?

What were the conditions and circumstances in which this was recorded?  Did you record it expecting to capture something like this?  Or, did you find it by accident?

Sorry; so many nitty-gritty questions.  Don't teke 'em to mean I doubt you.  I just want to know more about the context for ther recording.  Thanks!

the thump thump is caused by briding to a soundbaord to use a band mic - hence the questions on mics so we can eliminate that -w e hae 3 other recording of the same humming taken at different times with a similiar but not quite the same toon

oh also we were trying to get an evp and were actively talking and trying to provoke - the other night we tried to do one in our bedroom when the tv in my daughters room turned on by itself so the next night we tried to do one in her room and got this humming of a tune. we used soundforge to record and then discovered adobe audtion which we used to try to remove some hiss - the hum was there in soundforge and audacity before we took it to adobe so i know its not caused by the recording - i assume we need to get a digital recorder we were trying to work with whats on hand.

So, do you mean this was recorded on an analog (tape) recorder?  If so, you might have to take into account the possibility of this sound being the motor.  I'm not saying with absolute certainty that it is, or to shut you down about this EVP or anything.  Definitely I encourage you to continue attempting to capture more.  However, because of these variables you'll always have to catalog this one as POTENTIALLY unparanormal.  Study the melody you think is in this EVP, however.  Try to "bait" clearer and louder musical responses by humming as part of the EVP vigil and inviting the spirit to hum along, or complete the melody.  If this guy likes to sing and hum, take it as an invitation to join him; it may open the door to further communication.

no this was recorded using a soundbaord, a live stage mic and a laptop
